Every pupil at King’s St Alban’s is encouraged to get involved and find their passion on the sports field. The range of sports at the school enables all pupils to find something which they really enjoy and in which they can do well.
Pre-Prep Physical Education
Our Pre-Prep pupils take part in weekly Physical Education (PE) lessons which are designed to improve motor skills, confidence and teamwork. In addition to this, all of our Pre-Prep pupils, from Reception to Year 2, enjoy weekly swimming lessons in our school pool.
Prep Physical Education
The children in the Prep School experience a full range of activities in their PE lessons, including swimming, athletics, gymnastics, short tennis, and ball skills. Swimming plays a very important part in our curriculum and we pride ourselves in pupils’ confidence and successes in the pool
Early Years & Pre-Prep Games
Games lessons in Pre-Prep offer an introduction to some of the sports in which our children will take part as they move up the school. Each lesson is designed to develop basic skills, talent and ability in a nurturing and fun environment.
Prep Games
All children at King’s St Alban’s are given the opportunity to take part in inter-school fixtures from Year 3 onwards.
Our superb location alongside King’s Worcester means we are able to offer an outstanding range of sports facilities to our children. We play sports outdoors all year round on our all-weather pitch and our sports fields. As well as an indoor, heated, twenty-five metre swimming pool and large sports hall on our own site, there is a second sports hall, the Dance Studio, and a climbing wall available on the Senior School’s campus.
We have expert coaches in all of our major sports, who ensure that each child has a chance to fulfil their sporting potential. For boys, competitive sports are rugby, football, and cricket, whilst girls play competitively in hockey, netball, and cricket.
Sporting Success
Teams from King’s St Alban’s continue to excel and we have had many successes at regional and national level. In recent years our U11 netball team has been crowned IAPS South West Regional Champions. Our swimmers regularly qualify for the ESSA and IAPS National Finals, and a record number of boys have represented the county at cricket.
