The Admissions Process

Our Admissions Department will be your point of contact throughout the admissions process and will look forward to showing you all the existing opportunities available for pupils at King’s St Alban’s.

We look forward to welcoming you to King’s St Alban’s.

Nursery (Ages 2 to 4)

On receipt of your registration and payment, we will make a formal offer of a place in the Nursery (subject to availability). Prior to joining us, your child will be invited to spend a few hours in the Nursery to help them settle. We will discuss any particular issues for your child, such as eating, sleep time and potty training.

Pre-Preparatory Department (Reception to Year 2)

On receipt of your registration and payment, we will be able to give an immediate indication of the likelihood of a place being available in the Pre-Prep. For those children joining Reception in September, we offer a number of informal events where the children can familiarise themselves with their new classroom and get to know their teacher.

For children who have already started school elsewhere and are joining the Pre-Prep Department in Year 1 or Year 2, we will arrange for them to come and spend a morning in school prior to their move.

Prep School (Years 3 to 6)

Upon receipt of your registration and payment, we will contact you regarding opportunities for your child to visit us. This will enable them to become familiar with the school and some of the staff, prior to taking the entrance tests. An offer of a place will be made subject to your child’s performance in the entrance tests.

Entrance testing for Years 3 to 6 in 2024 takes place on Saturday 3rd February 2024

For those families who have not registered in time for this, individual examinations can be arranged at a mutually convenient time, subject to places still being available.
