King’s Student Wins City of Worcester Sport Award

Congratulations to Immie Gillgrass who won the award for Junior Female Sports Person of the Year at this year’s City of Worcester Sport Awards.

The award is for a female individual under eighteen years of age who has achieved a good standard of performance and has represented or contributed to a sport or club through their own dedication and commitment.

Immie has been playing Hockey since the age of five and this year has been rewarded for all her efforts by being selected to play for England U16 girls’ team. We’re delighted to report that during the match, Immie scored a brilliant goal.

At a club level Immie plays for Worcester Hockey Club’s First team and U18 team, consistently guiding them to victories, playing as a forward, attacking with pace and scoring frequently.

As well as hockey, Immie qualified for and ran for Hereford and Worcester Schools in the England Schools Cross Country Finals in Leeds.

The awards ceremony was held at the University of Worcester Arena, and winners were announced and presented by Olympic medal winner and former World Champion Steve Cram CBE, while BBC Midlands Today sports presenter and reporter Dan Pallet hosted the event.
