The school is fortunate to have the Old Chapel – a unique space in a beautiful and remote part of Wales that we use for outdoor activities, residential camps, and team building weekends.
The Old Chapel is used by all three schools within the Foundation. With no internet connection or mobile phone signal, the site offers a rare opportunity for pupils to enjoy the freedom of the great outdoors and that rare feeling of remoteness away from home. Time is largely spent outdoors, setting up camp, paddling in the stream that runs through the site, and making dens in the woods.
The site is used as a base by all pupils in Year 9 as part of their annual residential camp, those involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the Himalayan Club, and some of our Sixth Form groups. Pupils enjoy camping out in tents and have access to kitchen and washroom facilities within the main building.
The Old Chapel owes a lot to the Parents’ Committee, for their fundraising and support.
