Library Adventure for Pre-Prep and Nursery
On Thursday morning, Pre-Prep and Nursery visited The Hive in Worcester. The older children enjoyed a brisk walk down the river to the library and managed to arrive before the minibuses!
The children enjoyed listening to stories in the ‘story pit’ when they arrived. We then split into groups for a tour of the library. We learned about how the books are organised, where we could find different books and about all the different activities which run at the library. One of the highlights of the morning was using the sorting machine to help return library books which had been brought back. Everyone was very excited to see which basket their book would end up in!
After a quick break, another story and a biscuit, the children were off to explore the books and choose one to take home. All the children had their library cards and they were very excited reading with their friends and discussing the books they had chosen. They also enjoyed designing book covers for their own books before listening to a final story and setting off back to school for lunch. We always have a super morning visiting The Hive and it was lovely for our older Nursery children to join us. Here at King’s St Alban’s a Love for Reading Begins Early!
