Mayflower Concert

Congratulations to Year 5 and 6, who took part in a fabulous concert in the Cathedral on Tuesday evening. This event was part of the 400th Anniversary celebrations of the sailing of The Mayflower in 1620 – a pivotal moment in American history that is celebrated each year in their Thanksgiving Festival. Our children joined King’s Hawford and many local school children to form a vast choir of over 300 to sing a specially commissioned piece by Piers Connor Kennedy, which also featured live rock band, the Senior School Choir and guest narrator, Stephen Le Marchand. The children have been working very hard in their music lessons to prepare for this event and they really did themselves proud. The sight and sound of so many voices belting out the catchy songs was quite something! It was a very special evening. Well done everyone!
