The Memorial Service for Matthew Armstrong will take place on Monday 21st October at 2.30pm in Worcester Cathedral.
The Cathedral will be open from 1.15pm and our expectation is that the Service will be very busy as many people from both the King’s community and further afield will be attending. We suggest that you allow plenty of time for parking if you hope to be there. Books of condolence will be available in the Chapter House after the service and there will be refreshments in a marquee on College Green.
Unfortunately there is no parking on site so please allow time to find a parking space if you wish to attend. The closest car parks are King’s Street Car Park (WR1 2NX), NCP Worcester Cathedral Square (WR1 2LU) and Copenhagen Street Car Park (WR1 2EY) and a map of car parks in Worcester can be found here. Limited Parking at the school playing fields (located off Bromwich Road, the nearest post code being WR2 4AD) will also be made available from 1.00pm. This will involve a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral. The Cathedral is around a 10 minute walk from Worcester Foregate station and around double that from Worcester Shrub Hill.
Kate Armstrong is keen to establish an enduring bursary at King’s in Matthew’s memory. More information can be found here.
