Miss Lane Spends Easter with Project Gambia
Over the Easter holidays, Miss Lane, along with her son Tyler, embarked on a meaningful trip to The Gambia to support our school charity, Project Gambia. This visit allowed them to directly engage with and assist local communities, making a real difference to the lives of many people.
During their time in The Gambia, Miss Lane and Tyler participated in a range of activities that had a significant impact on the local population. They spent time teaching at Spring of Life School, helping to inspire and educate students. Additionally, they enjoyed playing with children in the nurseries, brightening their day with fun and engaging activities. One of the most rewarding aspects of their visit was helping to distribute essential items such as solar lights, toothbrushes, and toothpaste in the village of Kotusilo. These simple but vital resources can improve the quality of life for the local residents.
Miss Lane and Tyler also had the chance to visit schools that had received books and educational resources from King’s Hawford, witnessing first hand the positive impact these donations have had. They supported a spelling bee competition, encouraging the students to excel in their learning, and toured a local clinic where baby packs are provided to new mothers, ensuring they have the essentials they need to care for their babies.
Perhaps one of the most significant moments was seeing the new roof at St Peter’s Church, a project funded by the charity. This new roof will help preserve the church and provide a safe space for the community for years to come.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Project Gambia. Your generous donations are making a huge difference in the lives of many individuals and families in The Gambia.
