Moving On to King's Senior

Children attending King’s Hawford are automatically entered for the King’s School entrance tests. The curriculum at King’s Hawford is designed to prepare children for these tests.

External candidates should be registered as soon as possible, though entries can be accepted until shortly before the testing date. Places will be awarded on the basis of a child’s performance on papers in English,
Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. The tests used are age-standardised and the children work in small groups – creating an atmosphere conducive to them giving of their best. The entrance test for children at King’s
Hawford is on a qualifying as opposed to a competitive basis. If children perform at a satisfactory level they will be offered places at King’s. An important part of the selection process is the consideration of a report from King’s Hawford. The entrance tests are also used to determine any potential offers of scholarships.
