OV Amelia Kite in Cricket History First!

The test event for ‘The Hundred’ is currently taking place at Lords, the home of cricket. We are absolutely thrilled to share with you that OV Amelia Kite (Cr 12-19) is playing in this event and on Wednesday 29th April she became the first woman to take a wicket in that format at Lord’s!

For those not in the know, ‘The Hundred’ is a new, professional 100-ball cricket tournament, involving men’s and women’s teams from across England and Wales.

A keen sportswoman at King’s, OV Amelia Kite regularly plays for the Old Vigornian Cricket Club and will in fact be playing in their match against Brockhampton this weekend.

Huge congratulations to Amelia for a fantastic, historical and memorable achievement.

King’s Worcester’s Cricket Coach Tom Benham, who also works closely with the Old Vigornian CC, interviewed Amelia on her fantastic achievement. Click the link on the photo to watch it (please note this will take you to Instagram but a login isn’t required).
