OVs Bring The Magic Of The West End To Our Living Room!

While we await with bated breath the return of live performances, two OVs have been very creative and entrepreneurial during lockdown, making sure that all the magic of live theatre and music can reach us at home. OV Ben Humphrey (Cr 93-04) has set up his own theatre company Tortive Theatre and he has brought in fellow OV Oliver Brooks (S 96-01) as Creative Associate.

Oliver has enjoyed an extremely exciting career as a performer with notable successes in ‘Hairspray’ and ‘Matilda the Musical’ in the West End.

Ben is well known for his varied work in Direction, Production and Performance, including a huge amount of involvement with ‘Worcester Live’ and his infamous performance as ‘Dame Ginny’ in the annual Worcester Pantomime at the Swan Theatre.

Of Tortive Theatre’s new venture, ‘The Cabaret Club’, Oliver told us “Together we have set up this series of live online cabaret nights, bringing the talent of the West End and Broadway live to your living room, plus I’ll be hosting!”

The first ‘Cabaret Club’ will take place at 8pm on Thursday 18th March and Ben and Oliver are using a percentage of the profit made from ticket sales to donate to The Theatre Artists Fund, supporting all of those within the theatre industry who have been badly affected by the pandemic.

Good Luck Ben and Oliver!
