Pancake Day Fun in Nursery

Our Nursery pupils had a fantastic time celebrating Pancake Day, making the most of the sunshine with a variety of exciting hands-on activities!

The morning began with a ‘build-a-face’ task, where children carefully cut out different features to decorate their pancake faces. This fun and creative activity helped them practise their cutting skills, further developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.

Next, they explored a pancake-themed tuff tray, filled with sensory materials, encouraging curiosity, exploration, and imaginative play. The children had a wonderful time feeling different textures and fully immersing themselves in the experience.

Adding to the excitement, the children took part in a friendly pancake race, cheering each other on as they carefully balanced their pancakes and raced to the finish line! To finish off their Pancake Day fun, they practised slicing and cutting pancakes into different shapes, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills in a fun and engaging way.

A huge well done to our Nursery pupils for their enthusiasm and creativity, you made Pancake Day extra special!
