Class Assembly: The people who help us.

The pupils in our Reception class were extremely excited to welcome a live audience of special guests for their class assembly earlier this week. Reception parents joined with pupils from Year 1 and Year 2 for the occasion. Hosted in our Pre-Prep hall,  the assembly was based around Reception’s topic of ‘People who help us.’ The children have been inspired by learning about the different members of our school community and those in the wider community who help us.

They had all chosen someone as whom to dress up.. We had a mini Mr Chapman, our Headmaster and a mini Sara, our School Secretary. We also had an ENT consultant (inspired by our visit from one of the Reception parents last week), a chef and a firefighter.

The children performed a dance with great enthusiasm and energy, before singing  with great confidence and gusto two songs they had learnt. The children had all learnt their lines beautifully and spoke with confidence and eloquence. They were confident to speak clearly to their audience of parents and the other Pre- Prep classes. The assembly finished with a video montage of the learning in Reception since September; it’s been a busy term and a half! Plenty of tissues were needed for this as there wasn’t a dry eye among the parents. The children were fantastic; they have come such a long way since they began their school journey. We are very proud of them all. We can’t wait to see how much they’ve learned and experienced by the end of Reception. Well done children!

It was lovely to be able to welcome parents into Pre-Prep to share this special assembly with them and we are already looking forward to the next class assemblies next term!
