Pizza making …. not a crumb was left on anyone’s plate!!

On Tuesday, a rather excited Reception class set off on board the school minibus, making the short journey to visit the Reception cohort at King’s Hawford for a pizza making party!

There was an enormous amount of excitement amongst the children, who love meeting new friends and exploring new environments. Upon arrival at King’s Hawford the children went on an Easter egg hunt, where they had to match the correct patterns to each egg. Listening to the squeals of excitement from the children was so lovely to hear.

Having run around, it was time to set up a pizza making station, where the children rolled out their own dough and selected which toppings to put on their pizzas! The children worked really hard making their pizzas and then were fascinated by how we cooked the pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven. Each child, with the support of an adult, put their pizza into the oven and watched it cook. The pizzas all looked delicious and there wasn’t a crumb left on anyone’s plates!

After devouring their pizzas, the children played with their new friends and then offered biscuits that they had made at school to all the children and adults. The morning flew by and we all really enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends, experience new things and go on the school minibus, which is always a highlight in Reception! We are so grateful to King’s Hawford for inviting us to share pizza with them and we are very much looking forward to inviting them back in the Summer Term to spend some time with us!

Well done to all of the Reception children; we are so proud of you and you were a real credit to our school!
