Plenty to celebrate

There was plenty to celebrate in assembly this week. For a start it was lovely to get the school together, albeit it virtually. Our Celebration Assembly is a highlight of the school week and it is always such a special occasion to join together to celebrate all of the achievements that have taken place. Today was no different. With Year 6 seated in The Barn and all of the other years from Reception to Year 5 ‘Zooming in from their classrooms, Mrs Phillips started proceedings.

First up Mrs Phillips was delighted to award three of our Reception pupils with their ABC Badge. Congratulations to Perle, Isla and Rupert, who join Indie, Emily, Blake, Chester, Frank, Noah, Alexander, Alex, Braxton, William, Magson, Tanith, Ellis, James, Alfie, Aoife and Bonnie in being awarded their very first King’s Hawford Activity Badge. The first of many we are sure.

Next up Mrs Phillips commended all those who were awarded Head Teacher’s Awards this week. Bella in Year 2 had particularly impressed her teachers with her super effort in maths. The whole of Year 2 were given a special mention for their resilience in class this week despite a few changes to their normal routine. Mr Marsland and Mr Roberts are very proud of the way the year group have conducted themselves this week.

Harry G in Year 3 also received a Head Teacher’s Award this week.

The pupils in Year 4 and Year 6 have had a great week. Mrs Phillips noted the amount of subject merits which were given out to the year groups over the past few days. This is a very impressive achievement – well done Year 4 and Year 6.

This term Reception pupils have been included in the House Point scores for the first time. Alex V in Reception stepped up to the plate and was the year group’s top House Point Scorer for the week – an excellent achievement.

Elise M (Y1), Austin (Y2), Harry G (Y3), Harry C (Y4), Max M (Y5) and Seren (Y6) were all congratulated for being Top House Point Scorers for their respective year groups.

Congratulations to Year 4 pupils George O, Emily S, Teddy C, Evan N, Sam M and Ava H, who all received their Junior King’s Hawford Badge. These children have worked hard to achieve these badges and thoroughly deserve them!
