What a wonderful event the Pre-Prep Sports Afternoon was! It was the first year it had been held at the school playing fields and the children (and the weather!) rose to the occasion. Each year group competed in a range of races, including: a running race, skipping, the dressing up race and the traditional egg and spoon. The children also took part in a round robin of field events. The afternoon finished with all the Pre Prep children working together in year group teams to race an obstacle relay. The winning team was the red team with the green and yellow teams coming a close second and third respectively.
We were lucky enough to be able to invite our parents to watch safely and the atmosphere at the fields was fantastic. Miss Jordan, Miss Woodger and a team of Year 5 helpers ran the event smoothly and a special mention to Megan K who single handedly ran a charity cake sale for Maggs Day Centre in Worcester. The cake sale was suggested by Zara W who wanted to raise some money after seeing homeless people in Worcester over the winter. We raised over £60 and lots of delicious cakes were supplied.
The final word must go to our fantastic Pre Prep children who all demonstrated competitiveness and resilience in equal measure. They cheered each other on and celebrated everyone’s achievements. We are so proud of them all. Thank you to all those who attended our Pre-Prep Sports Day.
