King’s St Alban’s Pre-Prep department welcomed 13 new children into the Reception class at the end of last week. Starting school is such an exciting time and we have loved seeing all of the children embracing new routines and making friends.
We have really enjoyed getting to know the children and watching their friendships develop during these early days at school. We are already so proud of the children’s attitude towards learning and school life. They have been so happy, enthusiastic and willing to participate in our phonics sessions.
We are so excited about the year ahead at Pre-Prep and getting to know more about them in our first topic ‘All About Me’. We will be looking at how they have changed since they were a baby and the different things they like and dislike. We will be focusing on listening to each other and working together as a team. They have worked well so far to start filling our bear jar. Once the bear jar is full all of the class will be taking part in their first class treat!
We are so grateful to all of our Reception parents for their support in settling our new class at the start of the year and we are looking forward to this new journey with them.
We place great emphasis on pastoral care and the children’s emotional development, particularly during important periods of their life like moving up to Reception. We work hard to maintain constructive and mutually supportive relationships with parents. We pride ourselves on the quality of our links with parents and our communication between home and school is central to the way we care for our children.
