Rowing News - Sixth Form Girls Break Record at Monmouth Autumn Head
Monmouth Autumn Head provided our rowers with their first competition of the year, and it didn't disappoint. Our Senior Girls were successful in the first division with a coxed four of Emily H, Bea B, Libby C, Georgie T and Matthew D.
The girls then combined with Olivia H, Bethan F, Nemi E, Anna F and were coxed by Ellen C to form an eight. The team broke away from the field, developing a commanding lead to come home victorious and set a new course record, breaking the nine-year record held by King’s.
Our Fifth Form Girls Quadruple Scull of Eleanor H, Cat L, Izzy T and Jess W also took victory as did our Sixth Form Boys Quad of Olly T, Henry E, Alex C and Archie S.
For our Upper Removes it was a chance to experience their first head races and they all performed well showing determination and enthusiasm for future racing. Overall Monmouth was a fantastic day of racing, setting the rowers up for the rest of the season.
Well done to all involved.
