Running throughout the second week of the half term break, the King’s St Alban’s ‘spooktacular’ holiday club welcomed over forty children for an abundance of exciting and action-packed activities.
Holiday clubs at King’s St Alban’s, led by our very own, energetic Mrs Monkhouse, are designed for the children by the children. The half term holiday club was no exception! We endeavour to ensure that the range of activities on offer is varied, allowing the children to make the most of the school holidays.
Children from Reception age through to Year 6 enjoyed plenty of Halloween themed fun and games, with the Halloween fun kicking off on the Monday morning with a much-loved activity … baking! Helping their friends and building new friendships, pupils baked some delicious biscuits before getting extremely sticky with an abundance of icing, sprinkles, chocolate and much more. The question is did these ‘spooktacular’ creations make it home or were they devoured en route?
Continuing with the Halloween theme, thanks to Mr Hooman for a successful pumpkin picking mission in which the pupils got stuck into a morning of pumpkin carving madness! Hollowing their individual pumpkins, the children came up with some awesome designs. From the mess left in Pre-Prep Hall, it is clear that the pupils had a fantastic time and loved sharing their pumpkins with their families at pick up time.
Over the course of the spooktacular holiday club week pupils also embraced sporting activities, arts and crafts as well as a pizza and movie night; however, the week concluded with a fancy-dress party and quiz. The costumes were brilliant, and some simply terrifying.
The holiday club team are now eagerly planning our Christmas holiday club, when fun, frolics and lots of glitter are a certainty! The holiday club will run from Thursday, 16th December right the way through until Thursday, 23rd December, with full details available shortly.
