The Spring sunshine shone on the King’s St Alban’s grounds on Sunday for the King’s St Alban’s Parent Social Group Spring Fair.
Aiming to bring together pupils, families and friends, the Spring Fair promised a fun-filled afternoon for all and there is no doubting that this was certainly delivered!
Children ran around, playing a host of traditional Spring Fair games, from Hook-a-Duck to Ping Pong, and from Guess the Name of the Teddy Bear to Guess the Number of Sweets in a Jar; there was something for everyone! The central quad then became a dance floor as DJ Chris entertained the children with plenty of party games, dancing and even a conga! And for our younger guests, Jungle Jiggle kept them entertained in the coolness of the Sports Hall. Children had the opportunity to have their faces painted by the talented Mrs Pugh before re-energising with a Mr Whippy! However, the most popular activity of the afternoon had to be ‘Soak the teacher!’; both Mr Chapman and Mr Doodes were excellent targets!
For the adults, the playground was transformed into a diverse Craft Market, full of a plethora of wonderful goodies from fabric crafts, olive oils and Body Shop treats, which were enjoyed with a delicious coffee from The Coffee Shack! Then the whole family enjoyed a delicious, handmade, stone-baked pizza from Urban Village Pizza – the most delicious pizza we have ever tasted!
The event culminated with the drawing of the raffle, which included a huge number of fabulous prizes, from theatre tickets to boxes of beer, from crochet blankets to beauty treatments; we are hugely grateful to the wider King’s Community who donated such fabulous prizes. And to our winners….enjoy!
We are delighted that the event was such a success, raising funds of more than £1,500 to be ploughed back into King’s St Alban’s. Thank you to everyone who joined the event and to the enormous number of volunteers who enabled the King’s St Alban’s Parent Social Group Spring Fair to be such a success – we look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s event. In the meantime, don’t forget our next event is the Summer Party to be held on Saturday, 2nd July – Save the Date; more details to follow.
