King's St Alban's

19 May

Fun-filled afternoon for all the family raises record funds.

After holding their breath for dry weather, the King’s St Alban’s Parents’ Social Group were over the moon when the sun shone on Sunday for the King’s St Alban’s Parents’ Social Group Spring Fair.

A popular event, year on year the Spring Fair never fails to bring together our Foundation family of pupils, their families and friends for a fun-filled afternoon for all, and this year was no exception.

Children of all ages ran around, playing a host of traditional Spring Fair games, from Hook-a-Duck to Ping Pong, and enjoying everything from taking a turn on the bouncy castles to trying their hand at the penalty shoot-out; there was something for everyone! The Quad became a stage, where Daryl, the King’s St Alban’s street dance guru taught the children how to throw some shapes, whilst our younger guests were kept busy by Ellie from Monkeys in Motion in our outdoor classroom. Children had the opportunity to have their faces painted by our Sixth Form helpers, the First Team Netballers, before re-energising with a Mr Whippy.  Once again, by far the most popular activity of the afternoon had to be ‘Drench the Teacher!’; Mr Chapman, Mr Hooman, Mr Pillman, Mr Doodes and Mrs Kilbey all proved to be excellent targets!

The adults had the opportunity to delve into a diverse Craft Market, full of a plethora of wonderful goodies, which were enjoyed with a delicious coffee from our very own King’s Worcester TukTuk, ably run by a handful of parent volunteers. Then the whole family enjoyed a delicious, handmade, stone-baked pizza from Smokey Dough Pizzas, the most delicious pizza we have ever tasted!

The event culminated with the drawing of the raffle, which included an enormous hamper full of lots of delicious treats sponsored by the King’s Worcester caterers, Thomas Franks, and a Colin the Caterpillar Sweet Treats hamper for the younger raffle entrants. To our winners: enjoy!

We are delighted that the event was such a success, raising funds of around £2,000 to be ploughed back into King’s St Alban’s. Thank you to everyone who joined the event and to the enormous number of volunteers who enabled the King’s St Alban’s Parents’ Social Group Spring Fayre to be such a success.
