St Barnabas CE Primary School Win the Eighth Annual Primary Schools’ Maths Challenge

Thursday 27th June saw this year’s Primary Schools’ Maths Challenge, which is organised and run annually by Olly Heydon and the Maths Department here at King’s. Teams of four talented, excited Year 5 mathematicians from seventeen local primary schools filled College Hall with chatter and enthusiasm as they battled to become the eighth winners of the prized shield.

The glory, and of course the shield, went to the team from St Barnabas CE Primary School, who are to be congratulated on a stunning performance. Very close on their heels were the teams from Whittington CE and Cranham Primary Schools, both thoroughly deserving of their runners-up medals. Afterwards, having used up so much brain power, the children involved enjoyed lunch in the boathouse and a well-earned playtime in school gardens.
