Starting half term as they mean to go on.
When pupils arrived in The Barn for the first Celebration Assembly of this half term, they were greeted with a slightly different scene. The Barn is currently set up for the Year 5 and 6 Production dress rehearsal and performances. Mr Butt greeted pupils in front of a tropical beach backdrop alongside a cardboard palm tree. It was a slightly lighter than normal assembly, with Year 5 and 6 busy prepping for their dress rehearsal.
Success Outside of School:
Congratulations go to Shaan G, who has had success in martial arts, having recently been awarded his blue belt. Pippa P has had tremendous success in the pool of late: a flurry of first and second finishes in recent galas have meant that she has achieved county qualifying times. Pippa will represent her club and school in county championships in the future.
Well done to all of our pupils who have taken music examinations recently. You can read about their successes here.

Woodwind Workshop.
Amanda Allsop, our Woodwind teacher gave Years 1-4 a wonderful demonstration of 5 instruments in assembly this morning. The children were treated to performances on the flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone and bassoon, learning about the different mouthpieces and reads used to produce the sound. If you are interested in your child trying 2 or 3 lessons with Mrs Allsop for the remainder of this term (£19.50 per lesson) with no obligation to continue in September, please contact Mrs Hughes via email: shughes@ksw.org.uk to register your interest and receive further information.
