Taster morning: Prospective pupils join in festive fun

On a chilly but crisp morning, we were delighted to see so many happy and excited children joining our Taster Morning last Saturday.

Children looking to join King’s St Alban’s from Nursery (aged 2) through to Year 2 (aged 6) relished the opportunity put on their wellington boots and explore the Forest School. Children (and parents) followed a Christmas treasure trail taking them all over the Forest School before toasting delicious (and very sticky!) marshmallows on the campfire. After some refuelling, the children got even stickier with a number of craft activities; they even made a batch of reindeer food ready for Rudolph and friends on Christmas eve.

Meanwhile, children looking to join King’s St Alban’s in Year 3 (aged 7) and upwards embraced our Science and Art workshop. Challenged to create a Christmas robot to help Father Christmas, prospective pupils listened attentively to their instructions before getting stuck into the design and construction of their robots. Pupils can be proud of the resulting robots, which were brightly coloured and cheerful. A successful taster morning was had by all.

It was lovely to be able to invite families in to school to show them how our enviable facilities and dedicated staff create such a unique learning environment.  The hot mulled apple juice and delicious mince pies were a hit with the parents too!

Looking ahead to 2022, we are looking forward to welcoming many more prospective pupils and families to King’s St Alban’s. As such, we will be hosting a number of events including our Open Morning on Saturday, 22nd January, open to all families looking to join the school from Nursery through to Year 6.  We also have a number of taster events to look forward to over the coming two terms and would urge you to keep an eye on our social media channels and website for further details. Current parents please do spread the word if you have any friends or colleagues that may be interested.
