Theo in Pole Position for the start of the racing season

Lower Sixth Pupil Theo had a rather successful start to the racing season at Thruxton at the weekend.

Theo had a fantastic first racing season last year and is hoping to build on that success for his second year competing for TCR.

He started to build this success with his campaign last weekend when he had back to back wins in the Porsche Sprint Challenge supporting British Touring Cars.

The Porsche Website states the challenge is “made up of identical – and exhilarating- 425 hp 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars, meaning that the difference between victory and defeat comes down to team preparation and driver performance”.

Theo qualified in 3rd for the first race on Saturday but took the lead on the first lap and won by some margin in damp and tricky conditions.

Race 2 on Sunday was dry and Theo started on pole for this race. He won the race by 6.5 seconds and also got the fastest lap in the race.

Race 2 was shown live on Sunday on ITV4.  Theo was interviewed live by ITV Sport after his second win of the weekend. His parents said, “He presented himself very well and we are very proud of him.”

For recording the fastest lap Theo received one additional championship point and his second victory of the weekend which means he now takes a 7-point championship lead into the next round which is at Brands Hatch on May 22nd.

Everyone at King’s would like to congratulate Theo on his achievements so far and to wish him the best of luck for the season ahead. To hear the latest from Theo visit his website or follow Porsche Sport on Twitter.
