Pre-Prep have continued their learning at home this week and we have continued to be so impressed and proud of their hard work and flexibility.
Reception started the week listening to the story of ‘Handa’s Surprise’. They have started learning more about the story including talking about things that they like and dislike. We are looking forward to using the story next week to explore our senses, looking at different things we can smell, taste, hear, see and feel. All of the children have loved our dough disco sessions and we finished the week with a dress up dough disco.
Year One have been focusing on Traditional Tales again this week and they have all created their own troll, thinking carefully about different adjectives to describe their trolls. They enjoyed sharing these with their friends during their online form time. The children have started looking at 3D shapes and went on a hunt around their homes to find examples of 3D shapes.
Year Two have been thinking carefully about goals and the challenges that they might face in trying to reach their goals. Miss Chadwick was really impressed with the goals the children set themselves and their thoughtful approach to working out how best to reach them. They have also been on a hunt in their houses but this time to find objects that need electricity and those that don’t. This will then be followed by the children creating their own electrical circuits when they return to school.
We would like to say a big thank you again to our families for their support with their pre-prep children’s learning and we are all really looking forward to the children returning on Monday.
