King's Hawford

U9’s host Winterfold at home

It has been a quiet week on the sports front with only our U9 Girls in action at home to Winterfold.

U9 Hockey v Winterfold

On Tuesday afternoon, the U9 hockey team played their first home fixture of the year against Winterfold School. It was the first time that the girls had played a 7-a-side match and played on a full-size pitch.  The girls played with great energy from the first whistle and their attack was strong.  Winterfold managed a couple of counter-attacks but Hawford’s goalkeeper, Darcy B, stopped them from scoring.  It wasn’t until the third quarter that Hawford managed to score, with 2 goals being scored by Harriet B and assisted by Holly J.  The close attempt was made by Isabella W but unfortunately, it just went wide. The girls continued demonstrating excellent play and communicated well right up until the final whistle. All of the girls played brilliantly but special mentions must go to Harriet B (POM), Holly J and Jetta P for their excellent attacking skills, Ava W for being strong in midfield and Emily S for intercepting many balls.

Well done girls!
