Our wonderful Year 2 cohort were all super stars in their final Pre-Prep class assembly earlier this week.
They all learnt their lines brilliantly and spoke eloquently and with confidence. Based around the eight Growth Mindset words which have become so very familiar to all of our Pre-Prep pupils, Year 2 were a real delight to watch and listen to. They performed a group dance and sang beautifully. With some tear-jerkers thrown in, I think it was safe to say that the parents, grandparents and teachers in the audience needed a tissue or two!
Congratulations to all of the pupils in Year 2.
Having revisited their time in Pre-Prep, it was time to look forward!
Year 2 spent two sessions in the Prep school with Mrs Atkinson, getting used to being in their new environment. The children talked about what it will be like ‘across the road’, with new daily routines and lots of new things to experience.
They talked to Mrs Atkinson and discussed the things they are looking forward to, with lunch at ‘Big King’s’, bringing their own snacks and pencil cases, and Oaker Wood being top of the discussions! They chatted through anything they were unsure about and also did some writing all about themselves, so Mrs Atkinson can get to know them a little better before September.
It was lovely to see happy, smiley and enthusiastic children ready to start their journey in the Prep school.
