Year 4 Visit to Chedworth Roman Villas

Year 4 have had a lovely day at Chedworth Roman Villa. The children have been enthralled learning about terracotta pots, mosaics, how bones were used as tools and fascinated seeing a child’s handprint in one of the terracotta blocks from the hypocaust system. In the afternoon the children dressed up as Roman slaves and had to grind some herbs to make medicine using a pestle and mortar. They even got to take the lovely smelling creation home to put in their sock drawer!
