Year 6 Carousel Week – Science

During science week Year 6 have compared three very different habitats.  A garden lurking in the grounds of the senior school, a local woodland and a meadow that is adjacent to the athletics track.  At each location the children enjoyed measuring the levels of pH, light and moisture and identified various plants and animals.  Each pupil loved using the new equipment, sharing information, completing surveys and working collaboratively. It was so nice to use the outdoors as a classroom, which enriched and enhanced the topic of ecology. The data collected was compared, analysed and interpreted so that the relationship between the plants, animals found and their environment could be identified.
