Year Six enjoy rite of passage trip to Old Chapel
Without exception, all of the Year Sixes threw themselves into every opportunity they were presented with at The Old Chapel with true King’s resilience and enthusiasm. The weather was on our side throughout the week and didn’t stop us from achieving what we set out to do.
The highlights of the trip were den-building in the forest, the chilly river walk and being able to swim in certain parts of the river. Pupils enjoyed eating their meals outside, especially the fish ‘n chip supper. The raft-building and racing proved very popular and plenty of memories were made around the camp fires each night.
Walking to Tal y Mae bridge enabled the children to step back in time and soak up some of the local history, take in the amazing scenery and look after their eggs! Group Two were lucky enough to hear two of the School’s choristers sing the first verse of Jerusalem on the bridge, which was exceptional. They even saw sheep being shepherded down the Welsh valley by a local farmer and Jet the sheep dog, which was quite a sight to be seen. Both groups were fantastic company and every child shone through in one way or another. Well done, Year Six!
