Year 6 pupils unite for afternoon of sporting fun

On Monday afternoon, pupils from our two Prep Schools, King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s joined together on the King’s Senior sports fields. For both groups this was to be their very last games lessons as Prep School pupils. Accompanied by staff from both Prep Schools, they took part in a variety of different sporting activities.

It was a brilliant afternoon, allowing children from across the Foundation to mix and build friendships that they will be able to develop during their time in the Senior School. It also rounded off a busy set of transition events for our Year 6 pupils, all of which are designed to smooth the transition from Prep School to “Big King’s”. Over the course of the last academic year our Year 6 pupils have regularly joined together, taking part in a host of different events.

The sporting afternoon saw the children playing games of meteorites, Danish long ball, kick ball and ultimate ball. It was great to see the start of friendships being created and the staff were really pleased to see pupils really enjoying one another’s company.

All of the Prep School PE staff wish the amazing sets of Year 6s at each school all of the very best for the future. They look forward to watching and cheering on future sporting success from afar!
