King’s Foundation Schools Recognised in Independent Schools of the Year Awards
All three schools in The King’s Foundation are celebrating after being commended in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
King’s Worcester has been commended as Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievement, in recognition of its strong sporting ethos, excellent facilities and impressive record of success. The accolade follows an outstanding year in which the school was named among the top 2% of sporting schools in the country, included in the list of the UK’s top 100 cricketing schools, and announced as an official partner of Worcestershire County Cricket Club. This was complemented by a string of victories across a broad range of sports.
King’s St Alban’s has also been commended in the Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievement category, recognised not only for its record of success but also for a culture that is aspirational yet inclusive, ambitious yet grounded in wellbeing, and designed to enable every child to flourish. Since 2024, the school’s sporting provision has been reshaped to ensure every child can participate, develop confidence and nurture a lifelong love of sport – a culture that has translated into outstanding success both on and off the sports fields.
King’s Hawford’s recognition comes in the Independent Prep School of the Year category. Its commitment to providing a truly holistic education, that fosters curious, caring and confident young learners, has created a distinctive school where children develop resilience and a love of adventure. Its many achievements over the past year include impressive sporting accolades, record-breaking fundraising and incredible success for our young performers. At Hawford, however, the real success lies in the confidence and ‘have a go’ attitude instilled in children, with all its pupils encouraged to celebrate and surpass their own milestones.
A record number of nominations were received for the awards this year, with organisers receiving entries from hundreds of schools across the country. Final judging across all categories will take place in the autumn.
Congratulations to all our schools, and thank you to the pupils, staff and families that contribute to our ongoing success.
