Cathedral Assembly Shares Meaningful Message of Community

  On Tuesday, the King’s Foundation gathered at Worcester Cathedral to mark of the start of the academic year. Year 6 pupils from King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s led the readings and welcomes, accompanied by incredible performances from the school choir.

In his address to the Foundation, Mr. Charles shared a powerful reflection on the difference between belonging and mattering. He highlighted that while shared experiences connect us, a truly strong community is one where every pupil knows they matter and that their choices, actions, and kindness make a real difference.

He explained: “Great communities are about more than just belonging. They are about mattering. Mattering means knowing that who you are makes a difference. That your actions matter. That your choices matter. That the way you treat other people matters.

And that is the kind of community I want us to continue building here at King’s. I want every young person and every member of staff to know that you do not simply belong at King’s Worcester. You matter at King’s Worcester. ”

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a Foundation, and a powerful reminder of what makes the King’s Worcester community so special as we step into the new year together.
