After many Covid-related postponements and false starts, our Fifth Form and Sixth Form cast and crew of “Harlequinade” finally got the chance to complete their production week.
Spirits were high during half-term with the sheer joy of just getting back on a stage! It was inspiring to see how effortlessly they slipped back in to the roles that they had started to create all the way back in September.
Whilst we always knew we were filming to stream to our audience, this is still a very theatrical piece and had the same demands as any piece of live theatre to produce one continuous take! To achieve this in one week is a testament to the hard work, dedication and talent of our wonderful cast and crew.
“Harlequinade” is Terence Rattigan’s 1940s farce about a middle-aged theatrical couple who take Romeo and Juliet out on tour…what could possibly go wrong?!?
It is available to stream from 7pm on Friday 11th June (and will be available for one week). Members of the King’s community can login to Firefly and watch on our Digital Events platform. Follow this link.
Congratulations to our cast and crew, particularly the U6 for whom Harlequinade is their King’s theatrical swan song. We hope you enjoy the production.
