Split Second Releases Emotionally Charged Yet Energetic New Single ‘Alone’
King’s musicians Jack B (U6) and Ava H (FF) from UK indie band, Split Second are celebrating the release of their latest single, Alone. Following the success of Ozymandias, Addicted to Love, and their first single from the new lineup, Love Life Cycle, Alone continues to showcase the band’s evolving sound—a dynamic mix of raw emotion and electrifying indie-pop energy.
Written by Levi Husbands and produced by Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios, Alone is a track filled with contrast. Lyrically, the song explores themes of isolation and longing, yet sonically, it bursts with an infectious, high-energy rhythm that keeps listeners moving. The track will also feature on the band’s highly anticipated debut album, Love Life Cycle.
“Alone is about that feeling of being lost in your own thoughts, disconnected from the world, even when everything around you seems bright and lively,” explains Levi Husbands. “It started as a deeply personal reflection, but as we worked on it in the studio, it evolved into something almost paradoxical—melancholic yet uplifting. We wanted to capture that emotional duality in the music.”
The song’s contrast between its introspective lyrics and upbeat indie-rock instrumentation makes Alone a powerful addition to Split Second’s discography. The driving basslines, soaring melodies, and anthemic chorus make it an undeniable crowd-pleaser, while the underlying melancholy gives it depth and relatability.
With a growing fanbase of over 325K followers, sold-out shows, and festival appearances across the UK, Split Second continues to make waves in the indie music scene. Their previous singles have gained recognition from BBC Introducing and independent radio stations, solidifying their place as one of the most exciting emerging acts.
