A Hostel House Golf Reunion

Thank you to OV Colin Cole (H 67-77 and Old St Alban’s) who took the time to get in touch having re-connected, via the Alumni Office, with some of his former Hostel housemates in July!

Colin explains further, “Firstly, John Fardon (H 65-75 and Old St Alban’s) came up from Milton Keynes to play at Bransford with myself and Nic Sproson (H 71- 76). We had lovely weather, and it was really great to catch up again.  John’s golf was particularly impressive.

“We then entered a team of four from Hostel House into the annual Tewkesbury Cricket Club Golf Day at Puckrup Golf Course near Tewkesbury. Again, the weather was perfect, and we had a very enjoyable day and plenty of time to chat and catch up.

“Nic Sproson and I were joined by Garry Henry (H 72-77), who came up from Devon to play, and Nick Fairlie (H 72-77). I don’t think Nick and Garry had seen each other since the 1970s! It was very enjoyable. Nic, Garry and Nick played some really good golf, I had a few good moments.  It is scary to think that 47 years have passed since we left school.  We all played first team Cricket, as did John Fardon, except Nick Fairlie who was Captain of the first XV Rugby team. From memory I think we were all in other sports teams as well.”
