A Celebration Concert!

To mark their milestone birthdays, OV Shulah Oliver (K 93-00), her partner Simon, and her brother OV Ivan Oliver (K 86-91) will be holding a celebration concert in Worcester Cathedral on Saturday 11 March 2023, in aid of Young Lives vs. Cancer.

The concert will begin at 7.30pm with a wonderful programme, including:

• Rutter: Mass of the Children
• Vaughan Williams: Lark Ascending
• ABBA: Thank You for the Music
• Elgar: The Dance and The Lullaby from From Bavarian Highlands
• Cohen: Hallelujah
• Sousa: Liberty Bell March

An array of OVs and Hon OVs are taking part in addition to the Olivers, including OV and Soprano soloist Isabella Palmer (Cr 14-16), David Norledge (Cr 72-79), Nick Glossop (Os 80-86) and Hon OV David Brookshaw. They will be joined by the Elgar Chorale and the Orchestra of St John.

Shulah added, “The concert is in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer. Several OVs and Hon OVs are involved in the concert and we also have pupils from King’s St Alban’s and the Lower Years in the Senior School singing with us on the night. In fact, the reason we became involved with YLVC is because another OV we know lost his young son to cancer and the charity were absolutely amazing in the support they offered to their whole family.

“I organised a similar concert in 2014 and raised nearly £15,000 for the charity; I would absolutely love to do the same this time.”
