Chamber Business Award Success for OV Steve
Congratulations to OV Steve Perera (Cr 86-93) whose company, Britannic Place Financial Management, was named Winner of the Excellence in Professional Services Award at this year’s Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
The business celebrated its most successful awards night to date, as it was also Highly Commended in the Micro Business of the Year category and shortlisted as one of just five finalists for the Excellence in Customer Service Award.
The achievement marked an important milestone for the firm. Having joined the Chamber around five years ago, this was Britannic Place’s fourth year entering the awards. After reaching the finals in previous years without taking home a trophy, being recognised across three categories and winning its first Chamber award made the evening particularly memorable for them.
Speaking after the awards, Steve said, “While we have been fortunate enough to receive a number of national financial services awards over the years, this recognition feels especially meaningful. These awards celebrate businesses from every sector across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, so to be recognised by the local business community is a real honour. It is also a reflection of the fantastic team we have built at Britannic Place, whose hard work and commitment made this achievement possible.”
In 2006, Steve founded Britannic Place Financial Management in Worcester and continues to run the company. It is a Chartered Financial Planning firm specialising in helping business owners, senior professionals and retirees make confident financial decisions. The past year has been one of continued growth for the business, with further national industry recognition, investment in technology and the development of the next generation of financial planning professionals.
Reflecting on the recognition, Steve added, “Worcester has been home for much of my life. After joining The King’s School at 11, I later chose to return to raise my family, so it has always been important to me that Britannic Place plays a positive role within the local community. To receive this award in our twentieth year of business, alongside so many outstanding organisations from across the two counties, is something of which the whole team is incredibly proud.”
