Interview Practice with OVs

We are very fortunate here at King’s to be able to draw on the experiences and expertise of our OV community to assist current pupils. This week OVs have been working with Head of Careers, Helen Airdrie giving the Upper Sixth some practice with interviews.

OV Chris Crabtree (W 03-05) interviewed pupils interested in a career in Civil Engineering and former King’s teacher Hon OV Bob Stone interviewed those hoping to study Classics at University.

OV Helen Rimell (S 09-16) (pictured left) put some medical hopefuls through their paces with a series of MMI – multiple mini interviews – commonly used when interviewing for Medicine courses. Helen focused on medical ethics and gave her ‘candidates’ a scenario which they might encounter as a GP and scored their responses on how they would manage the situation.

As our Head of Careers puts it – ‘You can never have too much interview practice’ so we hope the Sixth Form found this a useful exercise.

Many thanks again to the OVs who gave their time so generously.
