KSW v OVs Football Match!

Many thanks to Hon OV Dr Mark Poole for this précis of the most recent friendly between the King’s First XI and OVs, which took place earlier this month:

“The KSW First XI played a competitive friendly against an OV squad featuring 20 recent leavers. Despite some good attacking play from both teams the score remained at 0-0 after two of the four 20-minute quarters.

“The KSW first team then took control of the match, partly due to their superior fitness, running out 3-1 winners. Having said this, the OVs had a sustained period of pressure late on, but managed to hit the woodwork twice when it would have been easier to score!

“The match was played in a fabulous spirit, and refereed superbly throughout by Mr. Sarriegui (Hon OV). We are hoping to do the same over the Christmas break, in preparation for a busy second term of football.”
