Many congratulations to OV Isabelle Palmer (Cr 14-16) who has just been awarded a Choral Scholarship from HeartEdge Manchester, one of only nine Scholarships available.
HeartEdge Manchester Choral Scholarships have been created for choral singers wishing to embark on a professional career in singing and are a collaborative project between the Diocese of Manchester and the St Martin-in-the-Fields HeartEdge Network. Isabelle will be joining the first ever cohort.
Music has always been a huge part of Isabelle’s life: she joined King’s with a music scholarship and her talent was in turn recognised by Royal Holloway, University of London. Having graduated with a First, Isabelle is now taking a Master’s in Ensemble Singing at the University of York.
On her latest scholarship, Isabelle said: “With the effects of the pandemic still looming over the careers of young professionals such as myself, it is heartening and wonderfully exciting to be provided with an opportunity like the HeartEdge Manchester Choral Scholarship. The last year and a half has been a time of great anxiety for all, not least for those embarking on the initial stages of their careers, but with the combined forces of this programme and the Solo Voice Ensemble Singing Master’s that I will be undertaking at the University of York, it finally feels that I am able to get back, at least in part, to what I love doing the most.”
May we wish you the best of luck, Isabelle!
