OV essay published in The Neuropsychologist

OV Corah Lewis

Fantastic OV news from Corah Lewis (Ch 07-14) who has recently had an essay she wrote on memory and epilepsy published in The Neuropsychologist.

Corah says, “I have worked as an Assistant Psychologist at a specialist epilepsy centre for the last 2 years. It has always struck me how much people with epilepsy struggle with memory problems.

The essay explores a number of factors which can contribute to memory difficulties in people with epilepsy and how, in my experience, talking this through with patients can help them significantly. It documents my steep learning curve over the last 2 years and uses anonymised case studies to highlight when such an explanation can help patients.

Last year the piece won the International League Against Epilepsy Gowers Clinical Science Essay Competition, and now I am delighted that it has been published in The Neuropsychologist.”
