Toby Moody (K 80-91) is recently back from working on the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia providing the voice over on the stunning footage from each day of the world’s biggest and longest motorsport event.
Starting in Jeddah, the rally covered all corners of the Kingdom with a total of nearly 3,000 miles against the clock over a route of 4,800 miles, a distance from London to Dallas TX, with huge distances being covered daily through some of the most spectacular back drops ever seen.
Toby was working with the TV crew who made a 30 minute highlights package from each day of the rally that was broadcast in 94 different countries and on the Dakar App all over the world.
“It’s a great rally to be on as the adventure and sheer scale of the event is breath-taking. Sleeping rough in a tent in hot and then near freezing conditions in the depths desert is part of the thrill with what essentially is the last of the whacky races in the world of motorsport. I’ve now worked on the Dakar in Africa, South America and now Saudi so to have seen it evolve over the past twenty years has been a privilege.”
