OV nominated for Unsung Hero Award

Wonderful news to hear that OV Helen Harding (Ch 94-01) has been nominated for the Unsung Hero Award in this year’s Worcestershire Education Awards!

Helen’s company ‘Discover History’ is also nominated for the Community Involvement Award which they won in 2017 and were finalists for in 2018 and 2019. ‘Discover History’ was founded by Helen and her now husband Paul in 2003 to deliver school history workshops, activities and practical sessions. Since then they have become multi-faceted, working with film, on TV documentaries and hundreds of heritage establishments across Britain.

Helen is often behind the scenes running the administrative side too which consists of ensuring the workshops are conforming to curriculum targets and making sure everything from accounts, risk assessments and safeguarding regulations are all current.

Helen says, “I’m both overwhelmed and over the moon to be put forward for the Unsung Hero award for the Worcestershire Education Awards. It does make it feel all worth while and I absolutely love the work we do. Every day is different from being in a school one day to chatting to those with Dementia the next day.”

‘Discover History’ have also been shortlisted in The Mayor’s Best of Worcester Awards with the ceremony at the prestigious Worcester Guildhall on 2nd April. Fingers crossed for the next few months!
