OV revs it up in the Desert
We always love to learn what OVs are up to, so it was wonderful to hear the latest from OV Toby Moody (K 80-91), whose career continues to keep us on our toes!
He recently returned from the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, where he was working for the Bahrain Raid Xtreme rally team run by Prodrive, handling media relations for the team, sponsors, digital media and main driver Sébastien Loeb. A little bit of bad luck prevented the outright victory due to punctures that dropped Loeb back to 34th overall early on but he then fought back to second overall, winning a record six stages in a row; this is the first time anyone has done that in the 45 year history of the rally. Coupled with another car, the Prodrive team won 9 from 14 stages with the Hunter car, designed and built in Banbury.
Toby is also hosting events at the Le Mans 24 hours race, F1 races and at the Goodwood Festival of Speed; he is regularly in touch with OVs Richard Sadler (S 77-87), Dan Taylor (Os 85-88) and James Davis (K 80-90).
