OVs Bryony and Phoebe Selected for England Cricket Women U19s

Congratulations to OVs Phoebe Brett (Cl 24-26) and Bryony Gillgrass (Cl 19-26 and Old Hawfordian) who have both been selected for the England Women U19 squad.

The 15-player squad will take part in England’s biggest-ever winter programme, beginning with training camps in the UK before travelling to India for a five-match T20 series in November and December 2026. The squad will then remain in India for a further week of outdoor preparation ahead of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in Nepal and Bangladesh in January and February 2027.

It is a particularly proud moment for King’s, as we are the only school to have two former pupils selected in the squad.

Phoebe returns to the England U19 set-up having been part of the 2025 squad and is the only returning member of that group. Bryony’s selection marks another significant step in her cricketing career, following her recent professional debut for Essex.

Both selections reflect the hard work and commitment Phoebe and Bryony have put into their cricket, and it is fantastic to see two OVs reach this level of the game together.

Speaking of her selection, Bryony said, “I am really proud to have been selected for the U19 squad, and that all my hard work has paid off. It’s also fantastic that I’ll be sharing this experience with Phoebe, who is an incredible player and a good friend.”
