Taking the Plunge for Charity

On Saturday 17 September 2022, OVs Sarah Graham (W 08-15) and Joanna Boyce (Cr 13-15), along with current King’s parent Rebecca Jane, braved the early hours and a temperature in the single figures to take the plunge for charity. The three, part of the RJ Country Homes team, took part in the Open Water Swim at Aztec Adventure to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH).

Their efforts go beyond their athletic adventures, as RJ Country Homes also sponsored the WBUH’s Perfectly Pink Ball, held at the Bank House Hotel on 1 October 2022, which launched the Unit’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The ball raised over an astounding £30,000!

Rebecca Jane, Managing Director of RJ Country Homes, explained, “As a predominantly female team, this charity is very close to our hearts. We have all personally experienced the sorrow and loss of a friend or loved one from breast cancer, including our office manager, who sadly lost her mum. The Worcestershire Breast Unit is a superb facility, and we could not be prouder to sponsor the WBUH Perfectly Pink Ball and to have undertaken this swimming challenge!’’
