The 2026 Careers Extravaganza
The fourth annual Careers Extravaganza, held in College Hall, saw record numbers of exhibitors and pupils attending from across the local area: over 60 organisations and 500 attendees!
The event spanned two afternoons: the first focused on careers in STEM, the Armed Forces and apprenticeships, the second revolved around business and creative industries, including entrepreneurs, digital transformation and law.
Amongst the exhibitors were OVs and OV-run companies, and we are incredibly grateful for their time and support for such an important opportunity for current pupils:
James Bailey (Cr 84-93)
Archie Connor (Os 10-17)
Dr Alice Evans (S 11-18)
Sarah Fardon (Os 01-08)
James Graham (Os 06-17)
Claire Gott (Cl 97-06)
Jonathan Hunt (Os 10-17)
Lucy Lewis (W 02-09)
Ben Martyn-Smith (S 09-16)
Rebecca Maund (Co 86-88)
Luke Mushing (K 13-20)
Steve Perera (Cr 86-93)
Barney Sears (Ch 10-15)
Jack Sims (Cr 04-11)
Richard Tomlinson (Cl 83-90)
George Wilesmith (Os 93-00)
Inspirational keynote speakers were welcomed on both afternoons; GP Dr Vicki Hicks, (Ombersley Medical Centre), and Lead Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner, Jos Williams, shared insights into their professional journeys and the realities of working in healthcare during the STEM day.
The second day saw a session from current King’s parents Daniel Maguire, Group Head, LSEG Markets Division and CEO of LCH Group at the London Stock Exchange Group, alongside entrepreneur, Hannah Edwards, founder of Eva Capital, who both shared insights into their leadership journeys in finance and wealth management, and how their university experiences shaped their paths to success.
Thank you to the speakers and all those who exhibited, especially the OVs and current or former parents; the strength of the fantastic Vigornian community continues to benefit current King’s pupils as well as those in the wider area.
