Three historic schools. One Shared Vision.

King’s Worcester is proud to be a founding member of the Three Choirs Schools Group, a partnership bringing together three historic cathedral schools: King’s Worcester, King’s Gloucester and Hereford Cathedral School. Each of our schools is proudly distinctive, but we are united by a shared cathedral heritage, strong musical and choral traditions, and a long-standing commitment to academic excellence, pastoral care and character formation.

Stronger Together – A Collaborative Partnership

The Three Choirs Schools Group is a collaborative partnership, not a merger. Each school remains fully independent, with its own governance, leadership, staff, legal and financial status, curriculum and ethos unchanged. The partnership has been created to enable thoughtful, purposeful collaboration where it adds genuine value for pupils, staff and the wider communities we serve.

This partnership builds on close working relationships that have existed between the three schools for many years. At a time of significant change across the independent education sector, formalising this collaboration allows our schools to share expertise, reflect together and respond positively to a changing landscape, while continuing to flourish in our own right.

Benefits for Pupils, Families and Staff

For pupils, the Three Choirs Schools Group is about broadening horizons without disrupting day-to-day school life. Through shared enrichment and challenge days, joint events and activities, and access to wider networks, expertise and resources, pupils can benefit from enhanced academic, pastoral and co-curricular opportunities that complement what is already offered within their own school. Teaching, routines and the overall experience at King’s Worcester remain unchanged.

The Group also supports excellence in teaching and learning through closer professional collaboration between staff across the three schools. Subject networks, shared training, moderation and curriculum development encourage the exchange of best practice and innovation, helping to sustain consistently high standards. Where operational efficiencies can be achieved through collaboration – such as shared services or procurement – any savings are reinvested directly into teaching and learning and the pupil experience.

Together, the three schools bring more than two millennia of combined history and serve over 2,600 pupils across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. The Three Choirs Schools Group reflects a confident, values-led approach to collaboration – strengthening our schools today while investing carefully and responsibly in the future.
